In Remembrance of Her Royal Highness
Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati
Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati
It is with deep sadness that the Chiang Mai International School community joins the people of Thailand in mourning the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Krom Luang Rajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita, who departed peacefully on 11 June 2026 at the age of 47.
Her Royal Highness was a woman of remarkable purpose. A trained lawyer, a skilled diplomat, and a tireless advocate for justice, she gave her life in service to the vulnerable — championing the welfare of women within the criminal justice system and giving voice to those so often unheard. Through her Kamlangjai ("Inspire") campaign and her pivotal role in the United Nations' adoption of the Bangkok Rules, Her Royal Highness left a legacy that will endure far beyond her years.
As a school rooted in Christian faith and committed to compassion and service, we find comfort in the promise of Scripture:
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." - Psalm 46:1
We pray for His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn, Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali, and all members of the Royal Family as they carry this profound loss. May they be held by God's peace, which surpasses all understanding.
Share Your Farewell
We warmly invite members of the CMIS community — students, parents, teachers, and friends — to leave a message of remembrance and farewell in honour of Her Royal Highness. Your words will stand as a testimony to the lives she touched and the legacy she leaves behind.
